Final Building Engineering Project - “Built for the North”:

Iqaluit is grappling with a severe housing crisis, characterized by overcrowding that is six times the Canadian average, with 60% of Nunavummiut residing in public housing. Previous efforts have relied on Euro-Canadian designs that fail to meet the needs of Inuit communities and the hard Arctic climate. Our design aims to provide sustainable housing solutions that honour traditional practices while addressing these urgent housing challenges.
